Letter To My Younger Self : Worth
You can read all A To Z Blogs here
Dear younger me,
I am writing this letter to tell you that you have always been worthy of what you do and who you are. Many times, you asked yourself, “Am I worthy enough?” So here I am, answering that for you. Yes, you are, and even more than you have ever imagined.
You know, worth is not about how many people like you or how many validate your work. It is about how much you value yourself and what you do. You often felt small when people made you believe your work was not enough. That was never true. When you choose a path that leads to growth, you will face many roadblocks, and sometimes those roadblocks come in the form of people.
There were moments when you had opportunities to shine, but things did not go your way. Even when you felt satisfied with your efforts, people reminded you of your failures, and that is when self-sabotage and self-doubt began to take over. At that time, there was no one to guide you, and you were too young to understand these things. But now I have learned that no one will truly see your worth until you accept it yourself.
I know it was not entirely your fault, but at times, you did let others define your worth. Even when you had chances to improve and stand up for yourself, you allowed others to diminish you. Over the years, things changed. Sometimes they worked in your favour, and at other times they challenged your confidence. But I am proud that you never stopped, even after facing multiple setbacks.
Thank you for carrying all of this at such a young age. I do not feel pity for you. I feel respect. It was difficult, but you made it through, and that is why I am here today, writing to you about how I have outgrown self-sabotage and embraced self-worth.
Yours truly,
Tanvi, who understands her worth
