In Uniform or Casual: Always on Duty

Image
Ram Pratap Sharma woke up early in the morning, seeing a long day ahead. He got ready in his uniform to board a convoy jeep that would transfer him from Tawang to Tezpur. Early morning travel was a bliss for him, with pleasing weather and quiet roads. After all, the roads were covered with fog and chilling winds. The patriotic songs played in the background as Ram looked outside, resting on the window, feeling the serenity of the mountains. He was leaving for home after joining the armed forces for the holidays. His life changed completely. In that 12-15 hours journey, he lived several lives from being a son, to being an army officer, he felt gratitude, and his smile showed satisfaction. His mate. Dheeraj, in the driver's seat, noticed him and asked playfully, "Aur Ram, kaisa lagra hai? Pehli baar ghar jaare ho na yaha aane ke baad?" (So, Ram, how are you feeling? You are going home for the first time since you came here, right?) Coming out of his trance, Ram looked at hi...

Reading While Travelling On A Metro

Image
What happens when you read a book while travelling on a metro? Any guesses? You may be thinking about possible scenarios, but are they humorous enough to make you laugh and wonder how the book can cost you more time and money besides the cost of the book? Here are three incidents that can be expected while you are traveling in a metro, whether it is to a workplace, an event, or maybe for an important meeting, and you are already late, that will make you laugh and giggle, and reminisce about those moments in your life forever: You Miss Your Station: Reading a gripping thriller, a hot pick romance, beautiful poems, or insightful non-fiction is like getting gossip that makes you forget about your surroundings and keeps you hooked till you finish it. While traveling in a metro, there are many chances that you are going to miss your station and get late to work, an important meeting, an event, or maybe even miss catching a flight if you are traveling in the airport express metro. 2024 Summed Up

Image
2024 was a year of gaining and losing. Hahaha, you would regard that every year is like that. What was exceptional in that year? No, my friend. When I say gaining and losing, I mean embracing goodness and losing negativity, holding myself and letting go of what did not work for me, and the significant thing is carrying the ideology of everything coming to me at the right time and place, be it buying new things, collaborating with people in life, or traveling places. With that, I am writing this blog to reflect upon my year 2024. It was challenging to cover 365 days in one post, so I resolved to put it in six words that would sum up the whole year.  ✨ Struggles - Though "struggles" are what keep life in place, I still wanted to use this word to sum up. Even after trying desperately to tick off one particular thing that did not work out as expected, I remember how different lessons I learned with each passing day and month. It was then that I realized I should be determined, no...

Onset of Winter

Image
On November 15, when Tara woke up in the morning, her body was having goosebumps. She thought that might be due to the fan in her room that was on throughout the night, and since it was November, the mornings were chilly. She turned off the fan and still did not feel at ease with the atmosphere in her master bedroom with wooden flooring. She rose from bed and unveiled the curtain to find the water on the glass pane, making her realize, "Winter is here." Sliding the balcony door, she noticed fog through the window in her closed balcony, losing the visibility of the tower opposite her room. It was covered in fog, and she could barely see the trees which used to dance before her eyes every morning. Realizing she did not get her winter wears out, she thought to add it to her to-do list as she kept forgetting about it for the past week, and now she had no time to push it as it would be difficult for her to stay in her summer t-shirts and capris. Tara closed the slider door of her ...

Does Validation Take A Toll On You?

Image
Till when the art would find its way through validation? One evening, Shanaya was overwhelmed and eager to share the news with one of her friends. Without a second thought, she called her friend, Akhil, without knowing where the conversation would lead.  As she made a call, the phone rang, but there was no response. She thought that Akhil would give her a call back when he would be free. Shanaya resumed her work and went to prepare for dinner. After preparations, she left for the market to buy some groceries and cherish the pleasant rainy weather with a cool breeze touching her soul, whispering in her ears the rhythm of the onset of autumn. Holding an umbrella in one hand and a mobile phone in the other to shoot a video for her friend Neeta, walking on the rain-showered roads. They were trying to prevent a pool of water from splashing on them while the vehicles passed by them. Once they reached the society gate, it was tedious to cross the road due to heavy traffic. Somehow, they m...
