2024 Summed Up
2024 was a year of gaining and losing. Hahaha, you would regard that every year is like that. What was exceptional in that year?
No, my friend. When I say gaining and losing, I mean embracing goodness and losing negativity, holding myself and letting go of what did not work for me, and the significant thing is carrying the ideology of everything coming to me at the right time and place, be it buying new things, collaborating with people in life, or traveling places.
With that, I am writing this blog to reflect upon my year 2024. It was challenging to cover 365 days in one post, so I resolved to put it in six words that would sum up the whole year.
✨ Struggles - Though "struggles" are what keep life in place, I still wanted to use this word to sum up. Even after trying desperately to tick off one particular thing that did not work out as expected, I remember how different lessons I learned with each passing day and month. It was then that I realized I should be determined, not desperate about something. It is a negative emotion.
✨ Growth - It has been prominent throughout the year. Talking about different areas of my life, I saw myself growing. My younger self would feel so proud of where I have come in life. From taking a leap of faith in my podcasting journey to taking a step into guest podcasting after doing solo podcasts for a year, I feel I learned and came across many people who taught me lessons that helped me in my journey and will help in the future too. Also, do not forget about the beginning of my voyage into Spoken Word Poetry.
✨ Connections - Being a part of different communities, I always strive to find some genuine connections. This year provided many opportunities to be with the best and learn from the experienced ones. The journey as a creator feels incomplete without people with you and by your side.
✨ Transformation - I always have a lot on my plate. Ahh, it reminded me of my meal plate when I would fill it with more than I could have, and my mother would yell, “Bharne ki aadat nahi jaegi.” Hahaha, coming back to my transformative journey, from getting panicked about missing out on a deadline or doing a task, I understood that it is okay to miss some things and keep doing good things rather than focusing on losses, I should work on what works like magic.
✨ Dreamy - From struggling to publish a fiction book, I realized it was not mature enough, and it was time to fulfill another dream book. A book of poetry with illustrations, Tides Of Being, turned out splendid with Ruchi Sinha, whose artwork adorned each verse masterfully. With that, I fulfilled another dream, the houseful event launching my book, and it was the fourth one in sequence, reminding me of how far I have survived in this journey. It still brings a smile to my face to reminisce about that day.
✨ Resilience - Even when my content failed to attract people, or I failed to be consistent, I never lost hope, and kept working to level up and tried a lot of new ideas. It improved my consistency drastically.
It is not only about my journey, but a recap of all the memories and people I happened to meet in 2024, and the impacts they created in my life.
Thank you for being awesome.
Let there be more growth and transformation in the new year too.
