Letter To My Younger Self : Acceptance

Dear little Me,
I hope you are doing well. It’s been a long time since we last spoke, so I decided to make it a monthly activity, and here I am with my first letter to you. I don’t know how it is going to turn out, but I am starting with a letter that talks about acceptance.
You know, growing up taught me one thing: nobody is going to love you entirely. When I say entirely, I mean one mistake is enough to invite hatred. You will only have yourself to look after, to love yourself the way you want, and to treat yourself in the best possible ways, be it by doing fun activities, sitting idle, dancing, or whatever you like. You mostly spill it out in your writing 😉.
I remember how, in childhood, you used to do things because you were supposed to and had to behave in a certain manner to be liked by all. After all, you were that cute, all-rounder kid who had to do everything. I want to tell you that, growing up, you have understood that it is not necessary to please everyone or do things as per everyone’s liking. You have started to do things for yourself, in ways that bring you happiness.
I feel so happy writing this to tell you that you have accepted your flaws and started treating yourself better than you used to. Also, for that notorious kid, you haven’t stopped irritating people if they try to outsmart you, without letting them know you are doing it deliberately.
Before I close this letter, I want to confess that if you had not been the way you were, I would not have grown into the woman I am today. Thank you so much for being the best child you could have been, because you taught me to dream and to go beyond limits to fulfill those dreams.
Yours, still figuring it out
Tanvi
