BlogchatterA2Z: Awkward First Date

"Let's meet." Raghav finally hit the send button hoping to not sound desperate, afterall it was already six months of his virtual chit chat with Priya.

To his surprise, a notification popped up on his phone.

It read, "6 p.m. at The Big Tree Cafe," to his surprise, it was from Priya. He smiled and gave a pat on his back. He walked to the mirror and ran his fingers through his hair, noticing his cheeks turning red like tomatoes. He hushed himself and returned to reality, realizing he had nothing to wear.

"Shit!" He rummaged through his cupboard, and within a few minutes, his bed was a dump of all the clothes he had ever purchased, finding nothing suitable to wear.

The wall clock started playing hourly music, and he looked at the time, it was already 5 p.m. Raghav panicked as he wanted to look date ready, better than any dates he had been in the past to seal the deal of his relationship this time with Priya whom he considered as a supreme in his life as since the day she came in his life (okkk virtually), he had mend his ways in life and become better in every aspect of life.

Biting his nails, he started looking for something to wear from the pile of clothes on his bed, and finally, his eyes fell on a white shirt and rugged jeans of navy blue color, lying silently under other clothes as if somebody left them for him just then. He smiled and grabbed it. He took a shower and got dressed up. Looking at himself in the mirror, he combed his hair and rubbed minimalist sunscreen-based face cream.

"I am coming, Priya. You will be blown today." He said to himself.

Raghav took the keys to the room and his bike, his travel partner, Royal Enfield. He switched off the lights and locked his 1 BHK apartment, giving one last glance across the doorway to confirm nothing was missed. Descending the stairs, he greeted the gardener of the owner of his rented apartment. "Bhaiya, aj bada alag lagre ho, date pe jare ho kya?" The gardener prompted. "Ayee, aap ko bada pata hai." Raghav replied mockingly. Raghav started his bike and left the apartment.

It was a twenty-minute ride to Big Tree Cafe from his apartment. While riding he was wondering if he should have asked Priya to come along, but he shrugged off the thought. Raghav parked the bike and went inside the cafe. As he took the first step into the cafe, he bumped into a girl who was taking a position to get a picture clicked. She was moving behind to get the right frame and did not know Raghav was behind. She was in his arms in a hit of a moment, and their eyes met. The waiter with the camera clicked the picture and said, "Perfect." They both came out of trance, and the girl snatched her phone from the waiter, who left giggling.

As Priya started walking ahead, she realized the boy with whom she bumped looked familiar and turned to face him again.

Priya: "Raghav"

Raghav: "Priya."

Both said in unison.
