Review

At the beginning of the book, the story of serpents and their rituals set in Mahatala Loka led to a serpent-turned-human sending his daughter for adoption and giving away all his wealth for a boy in an orphanage. It felt like this part would lead to a twist in adventure in the second book of the series. Furthermore, a new adventure began with a group of students getting selected for Gurukula. for which no one knew the criteria. But, everyone knew only lucky ones got admission to that. Readers will enjoy reading the story with an adequate mix of mystery, exploration, and action.

Readers would love the characters as they would easily relate to them being students going to a new place and meeting strangers with whom they form inseparable bonds. It will remind readers of their days with friends in a hostel away from home, finding new homes and family.

The world-building is flawless. While reading, the picturesque scene of the story would stay before the eyes of the readers. Readers would travel to places meeting the characters traveling from different cities around India to travel to a destination, Gurukula, leading from Delhi, Hyderabad, and Bangalore, with minimal resources.

The writing style of the author is simple yet impactful to keep readers engaged. But while reading, it might feel like some polishing would make the reading experience better.

Finishing this book, would make readers want for the second part as the blurb appears promising to explore the further adventure than the world building in this book.
