At midnight, Danu's father had a heart attack. Danu got the car and drove him to the nearest hospital, unaware of the circumstances to unfold before him. 

Danu was in his fifties and lived with his wife Siya, son Neeraj, and father. He lost his mother two years back. After her mother's death, his father lost interest in life, from being a jolly human to becoming a sad soul. Danu always insisted her son cheer his grandfather, but Neeraj could also not add any help in bringing him happiness.

After his mother's death, Danu's father embraced multiple diseases, including hypertension and cardiac issues. He was reluctant to live after his wife's death. It was his second cardiac arrest, and the doctor warned Danu earlier about losing him if he did not come out of his depression and sadness. 

As they reached the hospital, ward boys came with a stretcher. Danu did not leave his father's hand until they took him to ICU. He fell and cried hysterically. His wife tried to console him, but he did not calm down. He was crying and murmuring, embracing his wife. 

The doctors, nurses, and ward boys kept going in and out of the ICU. These movements created tension in the environment. Siya made Danu sit on a chair and rushed to the ICU door to check with a doctor. The doctor told her to wait as they were checking the patient. After a few minutes, a nurse came with a long list of medicines and injections and asked Danu to buy them.

Danu went to the medical and bought medicines. He handed the list of items to the nurse. She went inside and told him to wait till the doctor examined him. 

After four hours, the doctor informed Danu and his wife that they needed to operate as it was a case of a heart attack. Danu asked the doctor about his father getting cured. The doctor assured them that they would try their best. Danu's father was in OT for the next 4-5 hours and then shifted to ICU again. Danu requested the doctor to allow him to visit his father, but he refused.

It went on for the next two days. Danu was outraged. He ran into the ICU, overtaking the staff and pushing away the doctor. Everybody, including her wife, tried to hold him, but he did not stop until he fell on the ground, seeing that his father was lying on a bed covered with a sheet from tip to toe. He attempted to reach the bed, but he could not handle his emotions witnessing his father dead. Her wife went into the room and felt surprised at the scene.

Siya told herself to be robust to take care of her husband. When she was about to reach him, he stood and rushed out of the room. He caught hold of the doctor and ordered him to tell the truth. The doctor did not feel ashamed of his deeds and told Danu his father was old. He was creating a scene of his death. Danu burst into tears, leaving the collar of the doctor. Her wife took her in her embrace and cried.

Siya took Danu to the ICU and told him that they had to break the news to the family and perform rites. She also assured him to take action against the hospital and the doctors involved in this offense.
