AUNavratriBlogHop: Journey Of Courage (Part-1)

The night she boarded the bus with her friend had a lot to say, but to her, it was pleasant. Arha was chirpy as always and excited for the journey back to her college. They kept talking about life, careers, friends, relationships, and everything they could think about. Three years of friendship felt like they did not know each other well. The conversation halted when the bus stopped for dinner. While Adi, her friend, chose to smoke, she walked to avoid passive smoking. He kept on puffing and had a slight smile seeing her and asked, "Are you judging me? If yes, I don't mind." She replied, "Why will I judge you? It is your choice to smoke. I am trying to avoid passive smoking." And she giggled.

It was time for the journey to continue. And the bus started again.

They had to change the bus to reach the final destination, and after a few hours, they got to the place to board the bus. It was a wintry night, and they were close to the mountains. Even after having layers of clothes, they were shivering. Finally, they got a seat in the last row of the bus. As the bus ascended towards the destination, which was a mountainous town, the coldness started rising. Arha forgot to carry the covering with her and was shivering. Her friend covered her with his blanket. After some time, he also started feeling cold, so he shared the blanket with her.

She was in a deep sleep. And the wicked mind of her friend started to act weirdly. Adi tried to move his hands under the blanket to reach out to the zip of her jacket. He crawled his fingers over her body when she woke up with a jolt. First, she tried to push his hand away, but the strength in his hands was not allowing her to get him off. She had a drop of sweat on her forehead, even in harsh coldness. But she knew she had to protect her character and kept trying to shoo him away.

She held his hand tight before he could reach the zip of her jacket. But he started to murmur something in her ears, which provoked her. She told him to stay away, or she will scream. But he was similar to other creeps. Finally, she shouted for help. Everyone turned behind, with flashes of mobile phones on their faces focused. Few people came for help, and she stood with rage. The bus came to a halt for a while. She shouted and thrashed him, and other passengers supported her. After much satisfaction with her anger coming down, she sat on a different seat with a female companion, and he was left alone to doom in shame for rest journey.

When they reached the college, he felt ashamed about his actions. But Arha started walking towards her hostel without looking at him. She never looked back on that day and decided not to discuss this incident with anyone because her courage already spoke for her protection on the journey.
