AUNavratriBlogHop: From Darkness To Light (Part-3)
After meeting Asha, Arha held positive energy and realized there was no going back to doom in the past. She knew there were many girls and women who faced similar circumstances not only by strangers but also because of their trusted clans. She decided she would help them understand their strength.
She started searching communities that help women who suffered harassment or molestation or someone whose family disowned them. After spending a few days on it, she listed the top five communities and made an appointment to meet their directors.
Arha knew it would not be easy, and she had to walk on this path alone. Without hesitation, she continued her drive and met different community leaders on her list. One standard thing she noticed in each meeting was that the women run those communities. Every leader excitedly talked with her and discussed her intentions. She told them she wished to introduce therapy sessions for the survivors so that they could come out of their fear and live a relaxed life.
Why did she choose the introduction of therapy?
Arha started her practice as a therapist two years back and helped people of different ages heal depression and stress. Now, she wanted to put her experience and profession to a noble cause by helping the women's communities. When she told the directors about her intention, they found it fishy and thought, why would someone raise such concern voluntarily without any motive? Her determination gave her the strength to speak about what she faced.
It was after hearing her story that out of five, two community directors agreed to give her a chance to help as a therapist. She found a reason to live. She prepared a schedule of a week to visit each community and meet women who decided to therapy. As mentioned earlier, it would not be easy. The same happened. Even the women who agreed to discuss their pain and fear with her did not talk. She struggled a lot in the beginning to let them open up.
What started as a 1-0-1 session turned out in group sessions. The women who lived together and never talked were now laughing and chattering open-heartedly. The walls of the community center echoed with laughter for the first time, something different from shrill cries and wailing. Soon, the news spread about the change Arha brought to these two community women. More communities started reaching out to Arha. Those who initially turned down her request were the first in the queue. Arha was more than happy to help them and humbly accepted their request.
Within a year, Arha touched many lives. She helped them not only to survive but also taught them to live a fearless life. Arha empowered many innocent women who suffered mishaps and made them pursue their careers and fulfill their dreams rather than letting them enclosed behind the walls.
Such a positive attitude and commendable spirit! Appreciate it!
