Review

The story revolves around two main characters, Rusham, living in London, and Dil from Mumbai, who fell in love amidst the chaos, struggles, and doubts of their lives and existence through an expected conversation that started on Facebook when Rusham reached out Dil thanking her for sharing the review on his book, yes you read it correct, Dil is a book reviewer (and content writer) and Rusham an author. Readers and bookstagrammers out there will relate to this connection and look forward to what will happen next, and maybe this might be an unexpected turn for them, or maybe some readers might fantasize about falling in love with their favorite authors, forming such a connection. No more spoilers about how the story evolves with their struggles of managing to keep in touch even after different time zones.

Talking about the character development, the author has put in efforts to share about the past life and relationship of the characters, filling in the information for readers to understand how the characters grow in the story. The characters are flawed and relatable. The bonding of Dil and Kyra represents the true picture of the strength of female friendship and their protective nature towards each other. Kyra's character will send readers to think about that one friend who is always around them in their joys and sorrows, and whom their parents know very well.

The author's writing style is simple and easy to read. It is more lyrical and poetic and would allow readers to feel the rhythm as they read it with balanced pacing. The twists and turns will surprise the readers as they would not see it coming, how Rusham's challenge changed the entire dynamics of their bonding, and Dil's life took a drastic change. Though some readers might feel it is an unreal turn of events, due to the present era of red flags and red herrings, and the author's revealing everything about characters' lives bit by bit. Each chapter starts with a poem. The author allowed each character enough space, and time to think, and introspect in the story which some readers might feel was unnecessary.

The overall experience of reading this book is poetic, lyrical, and fast-paced. The serious theme, like depression, is being talked about, and how friendship and family bonding play an important role in the recovery of a person going through depression. This book is a reminder to tend to people suffering from depression and heartbreak delicately.
