Surrounded by people, still, she felt lonely at times.
Surbhi was a happy-go-lucky girl from childhood and needed no one to pamper her because she knew how to find a way with life in her pattern. From growing up in a joint family to living alone in the city away from home, she realized she was enough for herself to cater to her dreams and visions as the driving force of the Universe would align the right people at the right time to help her grow and flourish.
For her, gratitude was very important because no matter how much she would say that she was enough, she knew pretty well the important role her surroundings and people played in her career.
But life happened, and there she was left all alone to embark on a solo journey to follow her calling and thrive through the difficult times, from seeing social media profiles of family, and friends and feeling irritated to finding solace in the lap of nature when she decided to start her life in Bir. She moved to Bir with a backpack with some clothes, a laptop, a mobile, and her diary.
When she moved to Bir, she was working with an MNC with a decent package. She decided to stay in the hostel at Bir to save some money for emergency funds. But with time, she lost interest in corporate culture and started venturing to different places in Bir to explore what she actually wanted to do in life.
On her journey, one day Surbhi met with Arjuna at a cafe called Silver Linings. She noticed that the cafe was a secluded place but flocked with tourists more than other cafes in Bir. Her visit to Silver Linings changed her perspective on life as Arjuna showed her the path that Surbhi wanted to lead, i.e., Arjuna introduced Surbhi to storytelling.
Surbhi was sitting alone on the table, when Arjuna sat opposite to her starting a chit chat without any hesitation.
Arjuna: Would you mind if I sit here?
Surbhi: Of course not. I would love to have company.
Arjuna noticed Surbhi was lost in some thoughts. So, she tried to make her comfortable to open up before her.
Arjuna: Are you here for a vacation?
Surbhi: Kind of. It's more like an exploration for me. I have been living in Bir for the past two weeks, and I don't see myself going back to city life.
Arjuna: You sound interesting tell me more.
Surbhi: I am fed up with my work life. I am looking to do something that will add value to my life. So, I decided to visit cafes to explore life in Bir. May be I will find my calling.
Arjuna: What are your hobbies?
Surbhi: I love writing poems, and stories.
Arjuna: Wow, that's God's plan to introduce us. I am looking for a storyteller for my cafe. There is going to be a workshop soon where we need some storytellers, artists, poets, and musicians.
Surbhi: Storyteller? I only write stories. Who even does storytelling?
Arjuna: There you go. You are missing out on it. Storytelling is growing rapidly these days. You can give it a try. I know writing a story and telling the story are two different skills, but what harm is in trying?
Surbhi: Hmm.
Surbhi's hazelnut cold coffee arrived and she sat wondering about the thought of starting storytelling.
It seems to be a series with an interesting plot and a fresh, modern touch. I'll try to come back to read it from the beginning.
