"Why is she behaving so weird?"

"Does she think I am jealous?"

"Or is it just that she needs me at her convenience?"

Shikha had several thoughts about her roommate's behavior. Often, she would find her around, but she would appear invisible because of her laid-back attitude and convenience of communication.

After numerous such episodes, Shikha felt pissed and wanted to get rid of this feeling of being misused. She tried everything from distracting herself by indulging in different tasks, ignoring her roommate, and so on. Finally, when things did not get better she decided she needed to learn to ignore. It was an awakening for her. In her twenty-five years of life, she faced a lot of unfairness in life, but now was not the time to let it happen again.

Following the mantra, "Tit for tat," Shikha found some peace though she felt a little bad at times for deliberately ignoring her. But that was the only way because she learned long back that if you would allow negativity around you, you would embrace it, which was not healthy for her.

Coming back to her morning routine, Shikha would wake up at 6 a.m. and spend the next 1.5 hours freshening up and doing the workout. Before preparing breakfast, she would spend half an hour reading her current book, and start her day on a positive note. Following a healthy and balanced diet, she cooked and ate her breakfast before she sat at her work desk at 10 a.m. The office work used to be hectic to not allow her to think about her things. By the evening she would be so exhausted that she did not have time to entertain anybody. She prepared dinner and ate while watching a movie or series on an OTT application on her phone. Before going to bed she made sure to do two things, complete 10000 steps, and read for an hour.

Within a week, her life aligned with herself away from the negativity. She would barely have time and it made her more confident and valuable. Shikha needed to learn to navigate her energy in the right direction, and this setback was enough to remind her of her past experiences to channel her efforts toward her goals.

After spending her time engrossed in different activities throughout the week, she would find some time to visit cafes, bookstores, and tourist places with her friends. She was happier, and more efficient in doing everything. Shikha revived her calling and focused on working in that direction without getting affected by the negligent and laid back attitude of others.

One day, when she was out with her friend Tapasya, she complimented Shikha on her positive energy and developed confidence from the last time they met. Shikha smiled and looked at the sky saying, "Isn't that how beautifully life teaches you the right lesson at the right time?"

Tapasya was baffled but did not continue further, and they continued taking the pictures of the setup they made for the girls picnic.
