"I feel depressed now. No company is entertaining first thing because of the fucking notice period, and even if they do, they start ghosting after taking n number of interview rounds." Akhil told his colleague Raj. Raj touched Akhil's shoulder and tried to console him, "I understand bro. I am facing the same issue. I do not understand at times whether I am incapable or if companies are playing with interviewees."

Both sighed and said in unison, "Let's get back to work. I have many bugs to finish by the end of the day."

They hung up the team's call and continued their work. While Akhil was working he received an email. He got distracted and thought to check it before resuming his work. He had the habit of keeping his mailbox clean by removing all unwanted mail or categorizing them for easy finding.

Akhil opened the mail and read, "Sorry to inform you that we have moved to another candidate." Another rejection on his face and he sank in his chair. He cupped his hands under his chin thinking what was wrong that he needed to work on to increase his chances to get acceptance. Now he was fed up with taking all the rejections.

Work was getting piled up, Akhil's team chat messages kept buzzing but he did not respond until evening when he was ready with a plan to improve his skills. He opened his teams and realized there were multiple missed calls from his manager and colleagues. Without calling back, he opened the messages and checked if there was more work. Finding no more bugs added to the list, he pushed the code to the resolved bugs in the morning and shared his update, signing off for the day with an excuse of getting some urgent work.

He left his work desk. Akhil closed the door of his room with the key from outside and left the house. He went to grab some fresh air. "It's been a long time since I walked out in the evening. Work and the rejections are taking a toll on me. Thank goodness that I chose to step out today." Akhil said to himself. He spent one hour walking and jogging for a short distance to waive his worries and returned home. He took a shower and sat at his work desk.

In his planner, he started making notes of things he wanted to do daily to improve his skills. While he was penning down, another mail came to his mailbox. He opened the mail on his laptop, and there it was another rejection. He felt sad but not for long as he was ready to enrich his skills and techniques to better his game of interview. After establishing the plan, he went to cook his food.

Akhil loved cooking and he was making dal chawal. While he cooked, he was listening to an audiobook "Astabal". He was engrossed in cooking and listening to the book when another email popped in distracting him. He wanted to open the mail, but he said to himself, "Let it be, I know it would be another rejection."
