"At least finish your milk," Abha yelled from behind as her daughter Sukanya rushed to step out of her home. She was already late for the office, and it was the first day. "I am getting late. Do not worry, I will have something in the cafeteria," Sukanya replied.

"Oh God, these kids do not see anything before work," Abha complained. There was silence again, and Abha went to her bedroom to wake her husband. He was down with a fever since last night so he did not go to work, and slept till late hour. "Sandeep, wake up (touching his forehead). Your fever is down. I hope you are feeling better." Abha expressed her concern.

Sandeep pulled Abha close to him and sat up. "Darling, it has to happen. After all, I have the best wife to take care of me," Sandeep said. Abha shrugged off, "Stop it. Get up and come for breakfast, you have not eaten anything since yesterday." His stomach growled, and they both giggled like teenagers. Abhe left the room and went to the garden to water the plants. While watering she was talking to her plants and humming a rhythm of her own.

After watering the plants, she went to the drawing room and settled on a couch to read her book. Today, she picked a poetry book from her bookshelf. A book that takes you on an introspective journey, Tides of Being. She exclaimed, "Sounds interesting. Let's read this today." Before she could start reading, she heard Sandeep calling her. She put the book on the couch and patted it saying, "I think you have to wait, my cranky husband needs me."

"What is it, Sandeep?" She asked. He told her that he forgot to take his towel in the bathroom. Abha saw the towel was kept near the bathroom door, and she felt agitated. She told him, "It was right here, you only want to trouble me." Sandeep apologized and told her that he would not repeat it, asking her to give him a towel one last time. Abha extended her hand to give him a towel. She returned to the drawing room and picked up the book. And within the next five minutes, it was Sandeep again. She decided to not go this time. But he kept calling her and she went with her fist closed in anger.

Abha went to the room and stood at the gate with her hands folded at her stomach. Sandeep did not realize she was there, and he kept calling her name. When she was pissed, she finally broke her silence. "Chillao aur chillao. You cannot even do your stuff, and keep troubling me." Sandeep turned and smiled awkwardly saying, "I was not getting my trousers." Abha walked to the wardrobe and pulled out trousers, handing him.

"I saw it there, but it was not there. I am telling the truth." Sandeep tried to convince her. But, she left the room in anger. Sandeep was baffled seeing her behavior. Her wife, who would take everything on her, was behaving differently that day.

    1. Hahahaha, I think that is universal in case of women/mother/wife searching a thing, vs men/husband/children searching things

  2. This happens all the time with my sister. She cannot find anything and then mom or I are able to find it. Also, what an interesting title and it matches the story so well.
