Review

The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston is a treat for contemporary romance lovers. The story revolves around Clementine and Iwan, who met in a time-slipping apartment that belonged to Clementine's aunt. The love story of a publicist and a passionate chef who accidentally fell in love when they were not supposed to after meeting in that magical apartment. Clementine would remind herself of the predefined rules of the apartment, which included, "Never fall in love in this apartment." But she eventually happened to write a pure love story that turned out blissful for her and Iwan.

The character development in this book is smooth. Each character would allow readers to reflect upon themselves, like Clementine, an overworked employee who loved her work but never complaint, and passionate chef Iwan, who knew his path to becoming a chef and was determined to follow the same without considering any job mean, like washing dishes, Drew and Fiona deeply in love were to be parents showed the anxiety, joy and every emotion new parents could relate with. Readers would fall in love with Iwan for his wit, romance, poetic elements, and manners.

The author's writing style is heartwarming and engaging. Readers would feel immersed in the story as if they were a part of it and its premise. The emotional depth of the narrative by the author is commendable. Readers would notice how beautifully the author pictured time slipping apartment element keeping readers hooked to the book to know what would happen next, whether the protagonists would meet again, and if they would meet, what incidents would unfold with each time slipping. It was so smoothly narrated that the readers would have a fresh perspective each time the narrative talks about that magical apartment.

The overall experience of this book is a heartwarming, cozy, and warm hug. The Seven Year Slip is a delightful choice. It's a reminder that sometimes, the best way to move forward is to look back and learn from the past. It is a must-read, even if you are not into reading romance. This book will change your take on the romance genre.
