Review

The Devil's Autopsy by Vignesh delves into the darkest corners of the human psyche and paranormal realm. The stories in this collection follow common hooks, suspense, mystery, and murder behind the deaths in each story, even though each story has a unique premise.Talking about how the title justifies the stories, each story starts with an autopsy report of deaths in each story where the conclusion or mechanism is defined by the devil who tried to justify killing.

Readers who love to read thrillers, mystery, and crime fiction would enjoy each story. The stories feature a maniac who tried to bring the dead back to life,  a crazy man who did crazy dance seeing the people burn, a coffin seller with a secret of being a renowned seller and misfortune behind it, a family who died together, leaving readers to identify if it was murder or mass suicides and a girl trapped in an elevator ending up being murdered.

The author's storytelling keeps readers on the edge to know what happens the next moment. The author skillfully dives into themes of guilt, obsession, and the blurred lines between reality and illusion. The writing style is simple and engaging, allowing readers to soak in the stories and imagine the plot that could at times disturb the weak-hearted, but that is how beautifully this book turned out.

In this book, readers will explore the depths of human fear and the consequences of our actions. The characters are complex and relatable, making their struggles and triumphs powerful. This book is a reminder for all humans to understand how each life matters. One should not play with the emotions and lives of other people for the sake of their mean business or cheer.

The overall experience of reading this book is a captivating and disturbing exploration of the dark side of human nature and the supernatural. For me, more than haunting, this was painful as imagining a world with maniac human beings is terrifying and spine-chilling.

Are we dooming in a world where people are being mean and working toward taking advantage of others without considering their state of mind?
