Blogchatter Food Fest : A Solo Date That Turned Remarkable

In the last week of September 2023, I went to my book launch event in Kolkata. Kolkata, the city of joy, welcomed me with light rain showers and pleasing weather. I arrived at the airport on the morning of the event but had to travel 1.5 hours more to reach the hotel. As soon as I got to the room, I went straight to dress up as I had 2 hours to leave for the event to be there on time.

By 3 pm, I booked a taxi to go for lunch. I did not research the places in the city before going there, so I had to settle in a small restaurant for lunch. I do not even remember its name. I had a bad experience with my lunch. I decided to head to the event and wait to get along with my friend after the event to go to a nice place to dine. When I reached Booker's Lounge for the event, I met authors and readers who came to attend the event amidst the rain showers that turned too heavy from light.

At the event, I got an opportunity to meet different regional authors and readers. It was a great experience to interact with them. As I went on the stage to launch my book, I felt nervous and excited. But, I feel proud of myself for delivering the event well and above my expectations. When I finished talking about my books and myself, we had a Q&A round where the audience put forth their queries to me, and I answered to their satisfaction. We received a few snacks and drinks from the organizers of the event. After the event, I went to Roastery Coffe House with a friend.

And it was time for me to have good food after a long time. We ordered a refreshing Mojito, pizza, and sandwiches. It was delicious. I returned to the hotel and bid bye to my friend. On the second day of my trip, I had to leave for IIM Calcutta to meet the same friend. So, I decided to go on a solo date for breakfast before catching up with her for lunch. After spending some time on Google to find a Bookish Cafe, my eyes got stuck on this beautiful cafe named "Artsy - Coffee & Culture."  I must say it was an impressive place with good food and staff. I ordered a cappuccino and grilled three-cheese sandwich.

After I ate and explored through a cafe, I decided to talk to the manager about keeping my book in the bookish space. And to my surprise, he agreed to place my book in the book rack of the cafe. It was the first cafe where I put my book. I was on the ninth cloud at that hour.

After I left the cafe, I felt delighted and could not control my happiness. I went to Oxford Bookstore and bought myself books. After all, no matter how you are feeling, buy yourself books.
