Review
The story begins in a foreign land where one of the characters receives a parcel from his beloved friend from India. As the readers proceed reading, they come to know the actual tale begins with the narration by the protagonist when the parcel unfolds. The storyline is in two parts. In the first part, the protagonist's journey from orphan to school and then college will mesmerize readers and take them on a nostalgic ride of their teenage days and college life. The second part deals with finding a purpose in life, choosing a career, seeking a lover, and the mission to unfold the mystery behind the woman who gave money for the protagonist's education.
The compelling and relatable characters make this book an enjoyable read. Readers may notice only the protagonist is well-developed, and other characters remain underdeveloped. Moreover, the characters' bond makes this book a memorable read. Readers would picture themselves in the characters. Readers can resonate with the reader in the protagonist and the grandfather of his friend. Also, Rehaan, the protagonist's friend, resembles a resourceful guy who can make arrangements to solve any problem quickly.
The writing style followed in this book by both authors is simple yet compelling. The book is engaging and gripping. There might be no twists and turns, but readers will notice a constant smile on their faces while reading this book.
Though there is predictability in the story to some extent, this book holds magic in its words and verses crafted by the protagonist and his friend's grandfather. Here are few of them to lighten your mood and make you smile:
“Sadness is a street filled with people. Some people will go and some new people will come but the sadness will always be there until and unless you decide to move ahead.”
She loves like the moon,
All alone and beautiful
Fool the stars,
Come back to me.
Life isn’t long enough,
For our hearts to weep.
If the world would have granted wishes to everyone, it would have been more difficult to make anyone happy.
If you love to read uplifting, relatable content or themes exploring love, loss, friendship, and belonging, this book makes a perfect choice.
