"Ahhhh, isn't that beautiful how we grow up together and now we are partners?" Ahana said to Ravi looking at the night sky full of stars.
Ravi turned his face towards her and turned her face as they lay under the starry sky, rejuvenating their childhood, when they used to sleep on the terrace in their hometown when there used to be a power cut.
Back to ten years, when Ahana and Ravi were struggling to decide which stream to choose after completing secondary education. They did not know their childhood friendship was blossoming in love. It was challenging to keep them apart, and their parents were fine seeing them together. They had relief when their kids were around and together.
Finally, it was time, when Ahana and Ravi decided to choose the Science stream with Mathematics as the main subject. They both were good at Maths and were confused if they should go in the same stream or choose a different one as Ravi was interested in Commerce as well. After much analysis and noting down the perks of being in the same stream, Science was the decision. Their parents were happy. Ahana was keen to choose Science from the beginning, so she had already done research about the tutors for each subject.
It was hassle free to get enrolled and start their tuitions while they awaited tenth class board result. They were so close-knit that people started name calling them but they did not give heed to comments.
Something changed on a day when Ahana saw Ravi with another girl, Ruhi outside the coaching, hanging out and having ice cream. She went to them and was as normal as she would be with Ravi. She smiled at both of them and looked at Ravi lovingly. Ravi blushed. While this exchange was happening, a boy called Dharam was watching from a distance and he had a vile smile on his face. Something was cooking in his mind.
The clock struck 5 p.m. and they all went inside the class. As usual, Ahana and Ravi sat at the first table. While the rest sat in their respective seats. Dharam could not take his eyes off the budding pair and was distracted the whole time in class. When the class ended and everybody got up to leave for home, Dharam came to Ahana and asked her for her notebook. "Hey, Ahana, I was unable to attend the last two classes, can I borrow your notebook?" Ahana was skeptical for once, but Ravi's nod made her hand over her notebook to Dharam. "Don't leave pen marks or tear pages." She warned Dharam. Dharam giggled and assured her about it.
Dharam went home and decided to write a letter. He would then keep it in Ahana's notebook. He was jealous of Ravi as every girl had eye on him, and his crush Ruhi was also involved with him as Dharam pictured after seeing Ravi and Ruhi together that day. He wanted to take revenge on Ravi so he decided to pour poison from his mind on the paper telling Ahana that Ravi was attracted to Ruhi. He had seen them earlier as well in a cafe.
He was ready with a good storyline to set Ravi apart from Ruhi and then hoped Ruhi would return to him.
