BlogchatterA2Z: Embarrassing Teenage Love
With the cool breeze and the warmth of love in the air, the weather turned cozy with the onset of Valentine's week. The teenagers in the school were bustling with the curriculum and sharing treats. Some noob couples seem unaware of what love is about and what Valentine's week thingy signify, yet dressed up differently, even in school dresses, with boys putting gel on their hair and girls with kohl in their eyes and fingers coated with nail art.
Tapasya and Saransh were childhood darlings, and they grew up, getting inklings towards each other with time. From sharing lunch, assignments, problems, and chocolates to sharing secrets, they used to do everything together.
While everyone was celebrating Valentine's week around, they were preparing for a contest scheduled at the end of February. Tapasya, Saranash, Rajat, Priyank, and Prisha (Panch Ratan) were working together on multiple projects for the same contest. The best part about that contest was to come up with a collection of anything. Students from their school were getting ready with numerous unique collections, including stamps, coins, currency notes, poems, literary essays, sketches, and much more.
The group Panch Ratan was not only working on the individual collection, but also working on a science project, fire alarm model, and a volcano. Every day in school they would meet in the activity room where they would work on the projects, and collaborate to help others. Most of the time was spent on projects and they would bunk classes in the name of projects. With the management's grace, no teacher questioned and they took advantage of it.
One day while Tapasya, Saransh and Rajat were working on a fire alarm in the activity room, while Rajat was engrossed in settling the model Saransh was looking at Tapasya lovingly making her feel conscious. She asked, "What is it Saransh? You look a bit different today?" Saransh blushed and did not realise Rajat was watching him. He turned his face and ran outside the room. After some time he returned, composing himself.
Rajat tried to play with him. "Aur bro, what are your plans for Valentine's week? Which day is today? Propose day?" Tapasya giggled and asked them, "What do people do on Propose Day?" Rajat and Saransh exchanged looks and said in unison, "Oh! Don't you know? Couples say ‘I love you’ to each other." She laughed louder this time. One of the teachers, Mr. Lal, entered the activity room, disturbed by their banter and noise. "What is with you guys? You don't attend classes, and you are not letting me teach other students." Mr. Lal complained. The trio apologized to him and assured him they would work silently.
Mr. Lal saw their fire alarm model and was intrigued. He stopped for a while and questioned them about it. After getting all the answers, he praised them and told them that they would win. They thanked him. Rajat left the activity room for a loo break and Mr. Lal also left to continue teaching. Now, Tapasya and Saransh were alone in the activity room. While Tapasya was sitting on the floor working on her collection of literary essays, Saransh was pestering her. "What happened Saransh?" She asked. Saransh questioned, "It is Propose Day. What are we supposed to do?" Tapasya could not hold her laughter and laughed holding her stomach trying to not make noise but her laughter invited the undivided attention of two primary teachers, Miss Sarita and Miss Renu.
They entered and scolded them to wander around like this in between classes. Saransh tried to cover, "Ma'am, we are.." Miss Renu cut him in between and told them to return to their class. But Rajat returned and saved Tapasya and Saransh by informing the teachers that they were working on a project and they had permission. Tapasya and Saransh were standing with their heads down. Miss Sarita nodded and started to leave. While Miss Renu watched Tapasya and Saransh suspiciously and whispered in Miss Sarita's ear, "The kids of these days cannot be trusted. Did you see them when we entered? The colors from their faces faded, and they got awkward."
Aww... teenage crushes and loves! This was sweet, a bit embarrassing too for the characters. :)
