BlogchatterA2Z: Discovering Family Secret

"I wish everything reverts to the happy, good old days when our family used to live together, sharing love and problems. I feel tired of fighting for every little thing and the pressure to manage my finances, which I never thought of since childhood." Renu said, looking in the sky as if she was talking to someone directly. There were tears in her eyes, and no one by her side, except for the monkeys on the tree near the rock she was sitting on while trying to convince the Almighty.

Three years ago, Renu started working in one of the MNCs with a decent package, hoping to take care of her expenses on her own and lift off the weights from her dad's shoulder. When she came to the big city, she started liking her new life such that she did not like to return to her home. No festival could tempt her to visit home. But with time, things got worse at her home.

Her father's business faced a downfall when he suffered a serious ailment and was in bed for a month. One of her uncles deceived her father and took over his business. With time, her responsibilities enhanced, and she had to switch jobs to get a better package to support her family. It was becoming difficult for her to manage her dreams and responsibilities together.

Renu decided by hook or by crook she had to grab an opportunity that would lift her and allow her to support her dad to retain his business once again. But her destiny had other plans. She tried everything and already two years passed but that opportunity did not embrace her.

After multiple defeats, Renu decided to return home as it was becoming unbearable for her to imagine her family's condition from a distance. Her parents tried to convince her to not take this step but she did not listen. And what next? She ended up making the wrong decision and returned home with a baggage of failures and lost hopes.

Tara, Renu's mother, embraced her and started crying. Renu could not hold back her tears, and she cried too in her mother's arms. Her dad gulped a sip of alcohol to avoid the situation and left the room. Months passed, but Renu's familial condition did not improve.

It was depressing for Renu's father to see his family suffer because of his negligence and blind trust on his brothers. He decided to fight for what belonged to him. He finally went to her mother and told her that he needed his share of the family property and he would leave the city taking his family away from the hell. The floor slipped under her feet. Though she knew this day would come she was not ready to face it. She started crying but Renu's father did not deter and called for all his brothers to have a meeting and decide.

The event that was held for years was now about to take place. Renu's father had seen highs and lows and he did not want much so he decided to take what was given to him to provide for his family. When they were discussing the property distribution, he received the least, still he accepted it.

Renu and her cousins were watching this from a distance when they heard a shout. "Oye, tujhe kaise milega wo hissa? Hai Kon tu, kiya hi kya hai aaj tak tune?" Renu's uncle started shouting at her father. She and her cousins were terrified, and they left to hide in the other room. But the voices did not lower, and they started crying. Their mothers tried to calm them, but they continued crying until they dozed off.

"It is your dad's treasure. Your elders know about this, and they will never let him take that part of the property. It is a secret that is about to come out now. Your ancestors left it under my protection, the king of serpents. I am ready to give this to your dad. But if anybody else comes close or tries to snatch it, I will show my wrath and destroy their world." A vision shook Renu, and she got up from her sleep, sweating profusely.
