Review

The Fabulous Mums of Champion Valley is a hilarious and heart-warming tale that delves into competitive and chaotic modern-day parenting and highlights the concerns that most parents overlook, considering that their kid's education is the sole responsibility of the school and the staff. The story features a school, Champions Valley, where the chaos starts with a mere sense of competition and trying to save the school's reputation. The plot unfolds at a brisk pace such that the avid reader will gobble this book in one go. The twists and turns will keep the readers hooked. This book presents a satirical commentary on the societal pressures faced by women when it comes to parenting. It also highlights the silly lengths to which some mothers will go to make their kids shine.

The story features five mothers and a newly-appointed teacher with few other characters who play background roles as and when required. The mention of the backstory of each character embarks readers on exploring the complexities of human struggles and pains making them relatable. Readers would love the way the author crafted each character, considering the features distinct humans can have. In this, readers would notice the character of the mother of a topper, a corporate mother, a struggling mother, and a business tycoon mother, whereas fathers play the secondary role of being clueless about the children.

The author's writing style is engaging and comical. The introduction and mention of each character with distinct formatting make this book stand out as that will help readers understand different characters without any challenge. The format of each character's part reflects their way of life, like Jia, who kept in touch with her mother in her busy schedule via message, Riddhi's part would start with her weight and diet plan at the subsequent part in the book, etc.

In some places, the casual tone may sound a bit too tacky. But readers would never find a page that will bore them while reading. The overall experience of reading this book is hilarious, funny, and engaging. If you are someone who wishes to read contemporary fiction, this book can help you uplift your mood and allow you some time to see yourself laughing out loud.
