Blogchatter A2Z: Kidnapping

In the scorching sun, Radhika walked to her college with an umbrella protecting her from heat. Charu, her friend, joined her in the mid-way to college. They were chatting about many things, including assignments, crushes, family, and their whereabouts. As they neared the college, Charu noticed a guy staring at Radhika from the corner of the street. She did not utter a word and rushed to the college gate.

Radhika inquired why Charu was in a hurry, to which she hushed her. After reaching a safe distance from that guy, Charu narrated to Radhika what she noticed. Radhika laughed and told her that she was overthinking. But Charu disagreed with her and believed there was something fishy. They moved to the lecture hall. The whole day, Radhika found Charu lost in thoughts. Radhika decided to talk to Charu and assure her everything was fine.

When the college ended, Radhika and Charu packed their bags to leave. Radhika prompted, "Are you still thinking about that guy?" Charu sighed and said the guy she noticed in the morning was up to something. She saw her earlier, too, but did not tell Radhika about it. It worried Radhika. She told Charu not to worry they would be careful while commuting to college and home.

As they stepped out of the college gate, the sun already set. It was getting dark, and they both felt terrified. After covering a few meters from the college gate, Radhika shouted, and Charu witnessed a van blocking their path and a man attempting to grab Radhika inside the car. Charu tried to help her, but the other man from behind hit her on the head with a wood log. Before Charu could come to her senses, the car vanished.

Charu cried for help, but nobody heard her as the area near the college remained secluded after college time. She ran to Radhika's house to inform her family. Charu tripped while running many times due to fear and trauma of witnessing her friend getting kidnapped before her eyes. As she reached Radhika's house, she banged on the door hurriedly. Radhika's parents got worried seeing her. Radhika's mother took her inside and made her sit. She offered her water and asked her about the trouble.

Radhika's mother fainted as Charu narrated the scene of Radhika getting kidnapped. Radhika's father enraged with anger and requested Charu to help him report to the police and be the witness. She agreed at once. Before they left for the police station, they took Radhika's mother to rest till they came back.

After reaching the police station, Radhika's father looked for the officer on duty and asked Charu to narrate the incident. The officer got worried as he came across similar kidnappings recently in the same area that resulted in forced marriages. He asked a few questions to Charu and gave some orders to his team. Radhika's father tried to ask him about the matter, but the officer only told him he would get his daughter back and asked him to join him in his search.

Without giving any further details, the police team rushed to the nearby temples where suspects could take the girl for marriage, and luckily, at the first attempt, they found the kidnappers. Radhika's father found her in an unconscious state. Charu identified the guy she noticed in the morning trying to run and informed the police. The officers got hold of him and the gang.

The police team sighed and thanked Charu and his father for their prompt action on this incident as it not only saved Radhika's life but of many girls who could become victims of this gang.

  1. Thank God they were able to save Radhika in time. I wish the police were that prompt in real too. So many lives would be saved and crimes curbed.
