Review

Heartstrings and Harmonies, as the title conveys, the book has stories about connections and music (precisely song) related to each connection. It is a short storybook, and each tale is three to four pages long. The plot is precise to ensure that the readers can connect the dots of the flow of the story. It is a quick read.

Readers will find different characters in stories with whom they would feel connected. In life, emotions, incidents, love, companionship, and hope are what everyone requires, and this book brings that all to one place in the stories weaved by the author.

As the readers start reading the book, they will find a Prologue Poem, which summarizes twenty nine stories ahead in the book. The title of each story is the English translation of a song, like "The Rain Falls Pitter Patter." Readers will fall in love with the pattern followed in writing each story. This book conveys how music leads to healing and finding peace. There are different songs associated with the stories in the book.

Manali's writing style is simple and thought-provoking. Some readers may find a few stories distracting, but the author's engaging and nostalgic approach to writing this book would keep readers stay with the book till the end. The best part of this book is the connectivity of different songs with different life situations. It feels relieving to know that music does wonders in every phase of life.

Readers will feel the author's love for the song and her creativity to fit the correct song for a particular situation.

To all the music lovers and youngsters looking for a light read, this book will make a place in your heart. If you are looking for a short-story collection, this book awaits you.
