Blogchatter Half Marathon - Exploring Nature Therapy

Do you feel caged sometimes? Do you find it challenging to drag yourself out of your room? Do you feel low-esteemed?

These are vital questions to ask yourself if the answer to any of the above is yes. So, this blog is for you.

Often, you come across a downfall in different aspects, be it professional, personal, physical, or social. It can be due to various reasons, including relationships, bodily imbalance, or work commitments. You start avoiding people, going out to places, or even do not feel at your best.

It is when Nature Therapy (or ecotherapy) comes into the picture.

Nature Therapy is the practice of being in nature to boost your development and recovery, specifically mental health.

The most affected element in your body is your mental well-being when you have a setback. So, exploring nature helps to heal and start living a relaxed life.

Ways to Explore Nature Therapy

  1. Gardening

The quickest and easiest way to explore nature is by gardening on your balcony, terrace, or garden. I do gardening and can tell from my experience how blissful it is to see those green babies and your hands in the mud.

It is the first thing I choose when I feel low or not doing my best. Involving yourself with plants is a great way to find distraction and satisfaction simultaneously.

  1. Walk or Sit in nature (park or garden)

When things do not work your way, step out in the garden or a nearby park to sit and relax. You will feel much better. If you want to explore the surroundings, go for a walk. You will enjoy it.

Breathing in fresh air pleases your mind and soul. You live on your own and need not interact. Imagine if you run into a butterfly, how you will feel.

  1. Bird Watching or Stargazing

I know these two are different time activities, one being day and the other being night. How does it matter when both give you the pleasure of equal intensity?

When I see a bird on my balcony, I run to see which one is there. Most of the time, it is similar. But my curiosity to hear it is at a different level. I feel happy and stand for some time to watch it. But about stargazing, I am less likely to witness it every day. I remember from my childhood and from my mountain trip to make myself happy, wondering how pleasant the sky full of stars looked.

  1. Hiking and Trekking

To explore nature is to go for a hike or a trek. Walking and climbing on the terrain is a pleasure on the next level. There may be a road, or there may be not. It is all uncertain, but when you react to the top, the experience is magnificent.

  1. Hobbies in Green Space

Pursuing your hobbies is one of the ways to keep your creative wit active. If you love reading, writing, painting, singing, or dancing, practice it in nature.

You can write about nature, about the surroundings. You can paint the scenery. You can sing with nature singers like birds and insects. You can read books on nature or the books you love to read. Similarly, you name your hobby, and it will encourage you to practice in its essence.

Benefits of Nature Therapy

  1. Stress Relieving

Stress is like that unwanted guest who will come without informing you and stay till you get pissed off. But eventually, it will go. The same goes for stress. It will rule your mind. So, nature therapy helps you get out of your slumber of stress.

When you are in a green space, you feel relaxed and stress-free.

  1. Improved Creativity

It allows you to witness the beauty of nature and turn your imagination into your creativity. You can write on diverse topics related to nature, paint various scenery, etc.

Your creativity improves while you explore nature therapy.

  1. Social Engagement

When you go out in nature, you meet different people. You connect with them and can find like-minded people with whom you adore. Not only do those who suffer from downfall go for ecotherapy, but people who love to be in and around nature are on their way.

You connect and feel people and nature. You form new relations and improve your social engagement.

  1. Better Physical and Mental Health

When you explore nature, mental health heals with time and improves physical health. You are happy and enchanting when you go into your surroundings. Walking can help you physically, and so does the happiness of your mental health.

Wrapping Up

Nature therapy is not limited to someone who lost his way in life but to everyone who loves to be around the green space and adore the beauty and essence of God's creation.

Try out to explore ecotherapy. I bet you will love it. I do it, too, and feel happier and blessed for this opportunity.

"Not just humans God has created other beautiful stuff too. Explore the essence of nature."
